What should I do if I got married last year (2016) but my wife did not work?

Should I file together even thou she won't be filing for hers?

You must use one of the married filing statuses to file and you are able to file a joint return even if your spouse does not have income.  In most cases, it is to your advantage to file a joint return, especially when one spouse has no income.
