What should I answer for the question "Did you have crypto, NFTs, or other digital assets?"?

I saw this question on turbotax when I was doing my personal 2024 tax return:

Did you have crypto, NFTs, or other digital assets?

> Yes, I either:

  • Sold or disposed of a digital asset
  • Received one as payment or a reward
  • Awarded one to someone else
  • Exchanged it for another digital asset, property, or cash

> No

It seems this question does not specify which year it is asking for. I only bought and sold some bitcoin and dogecoin in 2021 and before. And I do hold some bitcoin and dogecoin in my account currently and also in 2024. But I did not have any transaction related to crypto in 2024. Should I select "Yes" or "No" for this question?

This is asking if you had any of the situations in 2024. So if you did not sell or dispose, receive payment or reward, or exchange in 2024, you would say no.

Follow up question: I answered "yes" to "Did you have crypto, NFTs, or other digital assets?", why was I not prompted for the details? I need to pay tax on crypto sales and a bankruptcy distribution/disposal.

Thanks!
