What needs review for a 1099-R form. I see a "needs review " designation without specific reference to what exactly needs review. What needs review?

There have been several updates that were implemented recently. First, I suggest updating your program to ensure you have the latest updates installed.

 

This can be done by logging into your desktop product.  Select Online in the menu on the top, and then select Check for Updates.

 

 

If that does not update your program, you can also manually update your program.

 

If you are using TurboTax Online, the program should be automatically updated.  

 

Once your program is updated, follow the steps in this link to get to the 1099-R input section.  

  • Once there, select Update to the right of IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R).
  • This will take you to the screen with all of your 1099-R entries.  
  • Select edit to the right of each 1099-R and review your entries on each screen. 
  • This should help remove any errors once you confirm your input.
