What is Uncommon Situations- Paid family leave under Wages & Income? It increased my CA refund but I received a 1099G from EDD for my PFL I took for the birth of my baby.

I know I have to enter my 1099G I received from EDD, but I don't know what the checkbox for Paid Family Leave under Wages & Income represent. Should I also click this box along with entering my 1099G? My CA Refund increased when I click this checkbox.

The check box refers ONLY to Paid Family Leave on a W-2. Just add the 109-G with no checkmarks.

Since your PFL was on a 1099-G, it will be handled correctly with no further intervention from you: taxable on federal return, non-taxable on state return.
