What is the Turbo Tax Business Incorporated Desktop Data File Extension

I have Turbo Tax Business Incorporated for Desktop. I would like to know what the data files are called so am looking for the file extension. Previous queries were answered with ".taxYYYY" but when I search on .tax2024 I get nothing.

TurboTax data files normally have the file extension .TAX (followed by the year). TurboTax saves tax files in the My Documents TurboTax folder.

You can click on this link for more information: How do I find my tax data file (.tax file) on my Windows computer?

I've checked. No files ending in .tax2024 (or .tt24 - which was an extension given to me by TurboTax support). Do you happen to know if the file is created ONLY when it's complete and you're ready to file? I've not committed to closing the file yet (still cleaning up a few left over pieces).

Yes, the tax file is created once the return is complete.  Or you can choose file, save as to create your own tax file.  Just becareful to indicate the file as an incomplete return.  This will prevent the file from being mixed up with the final tax file once you complete the return.
