What is the normal tax on a single person, standard deduction who worked 1/2 the year after college graduation in new york 31,000 for new york state taxes, in manhattan?

You have too many variables and you really should prepare the return in TuroTax to find out.

For example if you are in college part of the year you should have a 1098T, you might have some student loan interest.

You might be a dependent on your parent's return.

This is why I cannot correctly answer your question.

With TurboTax you do not pay until the end so if you are not happy you can leave.  But TurboTax can compute this for you correctly.

already finished but i feel ny state tax is too high
