An entry on Line 71, Schedule 5, of the 1040 form means that you made a payment when you requested an extension.
The value comes from the extension form 4868.
To check the entry, please follow these steps:
- On the Deductions and Credits screen, scroll to the Estimates and Other Taxes Paid section.
- Click the Start/Update box next to Other Income Taxes.
- On the Other Income Taxes screen, click on the box next to Payment with 2018 federal extension.
- The amount is entered on the next screen, How much of your 2018 federal taxes did you pay when you filed your tax extension?
