What happens to my credit card payment to the IRS since my return was rejected?

Will my credit card payment to the IRS still be processed even though my return was rejected? I just want to print my return and mail it, but I don't want to double pay the IRS.

No, when a return is rejected, nothing transmits, including payments.

There does not seem to be phone numbers on this page so I can talk to turbotax live. That said I have talked to the IRS and my credit card company. The IRS stated they "always" take the money even if your paperwork is rejected. My credit card company shows the charge still in pending status. I mailed a hard copy of my 1040 just in case before the deadline. By chance does turbotax have the capability to hold up the payment?

The IRS may mean paper-filed returns as "paperwork," not efiled ones.
