What does it mean when it asks to enter portion of the amount that represents wages from the sources of my income?

Can you clarify and tell us where in the return you are and to what this is in reference?

TT says if I own a rental property in Maryland then I have to file a nonresident MD state tax.  TT says it will help me.  Then it asks "enter the portion of this amount (of my total wages from jobs) that represents wages from Maryland sources" and it doesn't give any help.  It's not even wages, it's rental income.  They are mixing apples and oranges.

Just to clarify where is that screen showing up by you? When I enter the Md nonresident real estate information,

I am getting this screen. See here

Notice how they are asking you for the amounts that should not be included in Maryland income, which in your case would be zero. As you can see from the question in the screen, it only mentions Rents, Royalties and K-1 Income. Nothing talks about wages despite the fact when I tested it, I did enter wages from jobs.
