What do I enter for the Carryover Worksheet section? Where would I find this information? Would I enter 0 if I did not have anything carried over?

So for "Total withheld/pmts" I would enter 0?

It's best to leave the box blank if you have nothing to report. TurboTax will ask you to enter a zero if necessary.

How would I know if I had anything carried over from 2022?

"Carryover Worksheet: Total withheld/pmts must be entered. We still need to know your total payments and withholding for your 2022 CA tax return. On last year's return, total up all withholdings from W-2s and 1099s, estimated tax payments, and what you paid if you filed for an extension.

Total withheld/pmts = "

The exact question is copied and pasted above.

Please clarify your question.

  • Is this a capitol loss carryover? ( It doesn't sound like one! )
  • Is this a California, or a Federal worksheet?
  • Did you get a 1099-G for a California refund?
  • Did you Itemize your 2022 tax deductions?
  • Are you working in the TurboTax Desktop FORMS MODE?
