What can I do if my wife is elgible for SSN (Green Card holder/ not elgigible for ITIN) but can not get to a SSN office (She is int Korea). I am deployed in the military

What do I input  in for her personal information in the SSN line? How can I file my return?

You will need to file married filing separately.  Also, you will need to print your return and mail it.  You cannot e-fie.

 

If you need a SSN for your wife in order to print you return, enter a "dummy" SSN 305-44-0001.  Once you have printed your return, if you needed to enter a "dummy" SSN, "white-out" the SSN and in the place where her SSN would be, write in "Applied For"
