The deferred compensation plan became yours upon the death of your spouse. So you have all the rights that your late spouse did - you can receive the compensation of continue to defer it until the plan requires you to take it out. Contact the plan administrator and find out what rules apply to the particular plan that you have and inform them that you would like to continue to defer.
