What are Deposit only shares

On my transaction statement, some share sales are sources as DO - Deposit Only. There is no such option in the TurboTax investment type sale. What should I choose?

I can't see the options in your drop-down, only a picture I can't recognize.  Can you provide the options?

I'm seeing:

  • Employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Nonqualified stock options (NQSO)
  • Incentive stock options (ISO)
  • Restricted stock units (RSU)
  • Restricted stock awards (RS)
  • Stock (non-employee)
  • Cryptocurrency
  • Mutual fund, index fund, or ETF
  • Bond
  • Options

Stock (non-employee)

Sorry.  I thought they had American Depository receipts in there.

Thanks Robert!

From the follow-up dropdown:

  • I purchased it
  • I inherited it
  • I received it in a divorce settlement
  • I received it as a gift
  • It was a short sale
  • I received it from a demutualization of a life insurance company

I assume "I received it as a gift" is a correct option if this is a stock reward?

does stock  - non-employee describe the stock  - use that.   DO probably means no stock certificate was issued The ownership was in book form meaning the issuer or third party kept a record of who owned it.
