What addresses to use for mailing tax returns

I lived in colorado in 2024. I had my lease till January 2025. Now I am living in hotel till I go back to my country. Which address should I mail my 1040 to? I have put my international mailing address in my tax form. Should I mail it to colorado or international filing address that shows up in IRS website.

While paying my balance due in the pay1040 site I selected filing within the united states. Does that impact anything?

The important thing is to give the IRS an address that you can be reached at, in case they need to mail you anything.

If you are talking about where to mail your paper return to, please see Where to File. But can't you e-file?

To be honest, I don't know if it matters what you tell pay1040.com, because I don't know what difference it makes...you are paying, after all.

I am not sure that I understand what you are asking.

Thank you so much for taking the time.

Sorry let me rephrase

I am a U.S. resident who lived in Colorado for most of 2024 and currently live in Colorado(In a hotel). However, on my Form 1040, I have listed my foreign address since i don't have a Colorado address anymore . Should I mail my tax return to the IRS's international address, or should I use the address for Colorado residents? I'm concerned about whether the foreign address I provided on the form affects where I should send my return.

Also, I cannot do it online because I am a dual status resident in USA this year.

I would recommend the international address because of the non-permanent nature of your current accommodations, and the address on your return. ‌If the IRS need to reach you with any notices, they will send them to the address from your return.

If you accidentally send your tax return to a wrong IRS address, it'll slow the processing of your return, but there's no penalty.
