We were unaware that we should file a NYC 1127 tax return until now & we may be eligible for a refund. How many years back are we allowed to file 1127 tax returns for?

We would like to file for at least the past few years if allowed, so that we can hopefully claim the money that we would have received back as a refund every year.

Did your receive an 1127.2 statement from your employer?

No, my husband (the NYC employee) has never gotten anything but his regular W2 tax stubs from them.  He only found out about this 1127 thing because he overheard coworkers talking about their refunds, and he asked them what that was.

Hi, I did check the FAQs but unfortunately it does not note if people can file for years past, and if so, how far back they allow you to file for.
