We put in 2 EV charg stations in 23, but aren't getting the credit amount id'd in form 8911 (30% total costs up to $1k) and no extra for 2nd. Is this right?

No, that form should be working fine.  

Delete the entries that you've made and go back through and re-enter the information.  Make sure to pay careful attention to the questions.  This is a new credit and some of the questions to determine if you qualify can be confusing.  Take your time with them.
