We paid estimated tax by check on a Form 1040-ES Payment Voucher in 2023. How do we obtain Payment information from the IRS?

Does the IRS send something that we can claim as payment on our taxes? Is there a website where we can get credit for our 2023 payments?

No.  You have to keep track yourself using your bank statements etc.

To enter Federal or State Estimated Taxes Paid, including a state estimated payment made in January for the prior year, go to

Federal on left or at top. Personal (Home & Business)

Deductions and Credits at top

Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

Estimated - click the Start or Update button

No, the IRS will not send you a receipt or have receipts available online.  Just enter the payment you made with Form 1040-ES on your 2023 tax return.

You can view your tax account and the payment will be listed - https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account

To enter, edit or delete estimated taxes paid (Federal, State, Local) -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Deductions and Credits
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
On Estimates, click on the start or update button

Or enter estimates paid in the Search box located in the upper right of the online program screen. Click on Jump to estimates paid

Or click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.
Click on Tools
Click on Topic Search
Type in estimated tax payments, click on GO

Federal estimated taxes paid are entered on Form 1040 Line 26

No the IRS does not send you anything.  You had to keep track of those estimated payments yourself.

Do you not have bank or credit card records showing the amounts you paid?  Do you need to find out how much you paid?  You can check your online account with the IRS.

Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid>Other Income Taxes

If you have an IRS Online Account or an account with the IRS' Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) system, you can see a history of payments made.

See the IRS' Your Online Account and EFTPS: The Electronic Federal Tax Payment System pages.  These screens include instructions on creating these accounts, if you don't already have them.

You can get the estimated tax payments you made by going to the IRS.  You can check your IRS Online Account or create one to see your payment history.  A tax account transcript will give you information about estimated payments that have been applied to your account.  This can be very helpful for estimated payments or to get a copy of your return after it's been filed.

You can check your bank account and/or credit and debit card statements for the amounts you paid as well.
