"We need more information for your order" error when filing with a one-letter legal first name

Hello,

Last year I changed my legal name to a singular letter, J. It's not an abbreviation; it's just the letter J with no period. This is legal in the state of Ohio and the name change is reflected in my Social Security record. However, TurboTax will not let continue my e-filing unless I list my first name as the initialism "J." rather than "J" without a period. Will this small difference invalidate my return? I really need to finish filing.

Thanks,

J

No, it will not matter.

The IRS looks at your Social Security number as Identification.
