We just paid our taxes however we notice a service fee which is over $250. What is this fee for? If this is for use of credit card, how can we change payment method?

We chose credit card to pay over $10,000 in federal taxes. On my credit card account it is marked as 'L2G*SERVICE FEE.

We were not aware that we had to pay an additional service fee, on top of the INTUIT bill, and would like to know what this is for.

This is a convenience fee, which is charged by the payment processor. I am including more information below to assist you.

I would like to pay my taxes via direct deposit. There was no posting of what the convenience fee would be before I paid. Therefore, I would like to cancel my credit card payment.

They are saying they are not accepting phone calls because they are too busy.

Did you schedule a call back?

That is not a possibility.

"Whew – it’s tax time! We’re busy helping millions file their taxes, so we can’t take your call. Since you have already filed your taxes, please try us again after April 18" That is what it says.

You will have to try again in a few minutes, or try tomorrow. It does get busy at times so the wait times are longer.

ummm...April 18th is like 3 weeks away...and my issue is urgent. I would like to know how I can stop my credit card payment before it actually goes through.

Dear Carissa, I have not been able to get a hold of a service representative from Turbo tax and since the payment has gone through, we will be disputing the charge. Turbo tax cannot promote using a credit card as the best option to pay federal tax, not show me the service fee amount, charge me $252 and then have no one available to help me stop my payment. If someone could have helped me on time, the payment could have been cancelled, and I could have paid via my direct deposit. I only paid via credit card because of how turbo tax advertised it to be the best way to pay.

Hi Melissa! I have the same issue and received the same feedback from Turbo tax. So I called IRS and decided to make a direct debit payment. I am now waiting for the charge to through (since it's in transit between the merchant and my bank) in order to dispute it. Anything you can share regarding your dispute via your bank against this merchant?
