We are being charged for turbotax Self Employed, which we used last year. For 2018, there was no self employed activitiy nor income/expenses. Should no the cost be less?

TurboTax always defaults to the program you used in the prior year. Right at the beginning, you need to indicate that the program is not appropriate for you this year. The cost is less on the other programs.
