Wave accounting software similar to Quickbooks is what I use. But not sure how to get started on my taxes through you. Is this something someone can help me with thanks.

You don't use a 1040X.  The 1040X is  for an Amended return to correct an original return you filed.  You use a regular 1040 and fill out schedule C for self employment.  

You might have to import from the  .txf file.  Info on Importing Tax Exchange Format (.txf) files, see
