wary about installing 2024 TT Premier due to loss of prior year data and import issues

Hello. I hope someone can advise me on this before I download from my desktop. Prior years I have used Deluxe. This year I have to buy the TT Premier for reporting stock sales. I was hoping that the ease of transferring /importing data from prior year is seamless. However, I have read reviews online from Costco members who purchase the product and having lots of issues with installation and transferring data. That is why I hesitate to download the product. The reviewer shared ( 1 month ago)  that he/she was not allowed to transfer information from like they did from  last year by using a pdf to download. This years the person said turbo tax only allow a .tax which they don't have.  Then the reviewer said they went last year's  program, everything was blank, so unable to access information from prior year.  Has anyone experienced this issue. I am wary to download and lose all my information from last year. How do you transfer data from prior year to 2024 now? Can you please advice the steps needed to have no issue. I contacted Turbo Tax line and two people said they have never heard clients having this issue. Please help explain. I have used TT 15 years and loved the CD download. This year I bought the desktop download version from Costco. Thanks in advance!!

If you are concerned about your files, you can download a backup copy of the tax file to a USB.  However, the files should not be deleted with the download.
