It is different.   There are no personal exemptions -- those ended after the tax laws changed for 2018 and beyond.

So the only thing that I completed on my form was that have 2 dependents. Am I to fill out more information to have taxes taking out . I called the irs and they told me they couldn’t give me any advice and just wait for my first pay check and if no taxes were taking out then I need to take 20% from my check and call the irs to pay it. I don’t want to do that I rather my taxes be automatically taken out . Like I truly need help because I don’t understand this stuff and clicking on links aren’t helping me I need it to be explained

If you submit the form with your information, your employer does the rest.

If there is an issue after your first paycheck, you can submit another form with request for more withholding if that is what you want.

based on your income, filing status and number of dependents, nothing is withheld! and you still would get a refund at the end of the year.

the way the W-4 is now designed is that it mimics the tax return.  So if you are eligible for EITC and CTC and you would owe no tax at the end of the year, the system is designed not to withhold anything.

it is not necessarily incorrect that you complete the W-4 indicating your filing status and the 2 dependents and then nothing is withheld by the employer.  Many are surprised by this.
