W2C form

Hi,

I recently got a W2C form and haven't yet filed tax returns. In this case, what is the proper way to add the W2C form to the turbotax's e-file system? There are some discussions about this on this forum, but there doesn't seem to be a definitive or clear instruction for what to do in this case.

Use the W-2C instead of the W-2 that you got.

But my W2C form only contains information that was incorrectly reported previously. Actually this is the main reason why I am confused about what to do. Does turbotax e-filing submit the uploaded W2 and/or W2C together with my tax returns to IRS/state tax agencies or does it only read information from them but not actually submit them? In the latter case,  maybe I can let turbotax read the W2 form and then manually correct the boxes on turbotax that are corrected by the W2C (if I only upload the W2C instead, turbotax won't be able to find all the information needed)? If @ee-ea or anyone else could clarify this, I would appreciate it.

Can anyone clarify this? Thank you!

The W2C shows the changes from the original W2- if you did not enter the W2 in TurboTax yet, you can enter with the corrections (essentially changing the amounts changed on the original W2). @malda
