W2 in two states

Hi,

I have two W2's one for 4 month in Texas (home residence) and the other one is for 8 months that I have been living and working in Arizona. I rent an apartment in AZ  but my driver license still with TX same as my car plates. I am not sure if I ma going to leave in AZ permanently. how do I need to report both W2? in the same filing? or do I need to file each W2 separate? my wife still in Texas and we always file jointly

thank you!

Roberto

You enter both W-2's in the federal section of TurboTax. You only enter them in and file one federal tax return. You need to file a part-year resident return in Arizona since you were there only a portion of the year. Texas does not have a state return filing requirement so nothing to do there.

Hi, just to make sure I understood correctly, besides my normal filing (including both W2's TX and AZ) I have to file a part-year resident return in Arizona on this website below (140PY form) ?

thank you!

Yes, you will need to file a part year return for AZ to report the income that you earned while living and working in the state.
