Hi, so I received a W2 for both NJ and NY. I live in NJ for the entire 2024, no longer a residence of NY in 2024 (had lived in NY for a month in 2023).
On my NY W2, all boxes are blank (e.g. box 1 wages is empty), except for box 15 (NY, state ID number), box 16 (same wage reported in my NJ W2, which is my wage of the entire 2024), box 17 (withholding tax, on the bonus I received in Feb 2024, which I suppose is associated with the 1 month that I worked in NY in 2023).
So do I need to add 2 x W2 in Turbotax, or just 1 x W2 but have 2 rows for different state in box 15-17 (box 17 would have different withholding tax in different state)?
When I add my NJ W2, it's prefilled with both NJ and NY, is that right?
It's my first time filing taxes in US, it's really confusing.. Thanks!
