W-2 shows local (boxes 18-20) but state (15-17) are blank

Will this be a problem? I tour with the entertainment industry; is it possible this W-2 is in fact correct, or do I need to request a corrected one? Or can I just add the local wages together (there were 2) and input that under state wages?

You will need to contact your employer to verify this information.

You should have state withholdings depending upon your state of residence at the least if you reside in a state that imposes income taxes.

You should not guess the amount of your state and local agencies as the amounts on the W-2 forms are reported to the applicable taxing agencies.  Any discrepancies could result in a delay in processing your tax returns.

Thank you! TurboTax ended up doing it all for me and telling me that I owed state income tax (which made sense to me after some research).

For anyone else confused: This state doesn't require state income tax to be paid if you make under $600 as a nonres. I'm guessing my previous employer mistakenly didn't report it because we visited the state on two separate occasions which totaled under $600 each time (but definitely over $600 in total). That or they did end up correctly withholding and the W-2 is just wrong. I'll check with my employer to see if they already withheld state income tax but to avoid any trouble with that state, I went ahead and paid what is believed to be owed.
