URGENT -W2 NC and SC - I live in NC but work for the same company on both NC and SC, it is located in SC where I mainly work. How should I file my taxes?

I work mainly in SC but sometimes my company sends me to NC for work. In my W2, my state wages are reported separately, however, for NC the amount is around $15,000 while for SC is about $13,000. Nevertheless, the amount in box 1 is also $15,000 as in the NC reported amount. Is the form correct or is it not as per the NC-30 ? And what should I do if my accountant and my company’s tax filler disagree on the matter?

It probably is correct.

It looks like you work in South Carolina about 86% of the time. you will be taxed in South Carolina for the income that you earned there.

I expect that you live in North Carolina. if this is correct, North Carolina will tax 100% of your income.

However, You will get a credit on your North Carolina tax return for the taxes paid to South Carolina.

The credit will be limited to the amount of tax calculated in North Carolina on the $13,000.
