Unable to Pay with Refund for Refiling — Anyone Found a Workaround?

I need to refile my Federal and State taxes, but I'm encountering an issue where there is no option to pay through TurboTax. Instead, I'm only being prompted for my credit card information. I've already reached out to TurboTax Support twice, but unfortunately, they haven't been helpful. Has anyone else experienced this or found a workaround?

What do you mean by "re-file?"   Was your e-file rejected?    Did you make some changes and are you now ready to e-file it again?   When you filed it originally were you using refund processing and paying your fees by having them deducted from your federal refund?   What did you change when it was rejected and you fixed it?

My state tax return was rejected, and I need to update my federal return (which was already accepted) because I received an additional form in the mail. I didn't have to pay when I initially submitted, but now I'm being charged to re-file.

When you filed originally --- did you e-file federal and state at the same time?   Or did you file federal and then prepare and file the state later?

You can only pay with the refund one time.  You will need a credit card to pay the extra charges added.

Since it is not clear when you started trying to prepare and file the state, we cannot tell if the refund processing you "signed up" for included the state fees.   If you only chose refund processing for the federal and filed federal, then came back later to do state, you cannot get "refund processing" for your state.

 

 

No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue.  If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help.  Do not use the word “refund.”

I used the free edition when I originally e-filed.

This cannot be resolved in the user forum.  You need customer support.
