Greetings,
I am getting this message:
Form 8915F-T: ou indicated that there were retirement distributions received in 2022 related to a disaster that occured in 2021 or 2022. It requires Part I of Form 8915-F which had not been finalized yet. Do no file this part of the calculation is finalized in the upcoming release.
I updated the Turbo tax software (Turbo Tax Deluxe 2022) today. From your website, it appears that the form is available within the software for both.
I was able to bypass this error, meaning there was no hard stop, and make my payment but the software is not allowing me to e-file my Federal and state returns. Can you please help me resolve this?
Go back to the Retirement Income section for the Form 1099-R and on the screen where you were asked if you took a distribution in 2021 due to a non-Covid disaster, answer No.
See if this will now allow you to e-file the 2022 tax return.
Greetings,
I could not see in the program where this entry is. I reviewed the Wages and Income section and could not find the wording you pointed out. Could you please provide this to me.
Thanks

To enter, edit or delete a form 1099-R -
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
On IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R), click the start or update button
Or enter 1099-r in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to 1099-R
Greetings Again,
I deleted my entries and readded the 1099-R information. I received the same error as before. Is there something I may have missed? I continue to get the same error that I shared.
Thanks
Anna
Please try logging completely out of the TurboTax website, then clear your browser's cache and delete cookies to see if that clears up the error. A full or corrupted cache can keep TurboTax from functioning properly. If that doesn't work, try a different browser.
No I did not receive any distribution related to disaster
i do not need to file astate return now Just efile the federal return ASAP.
I did not see this either. I dont know what is holding up filing my return. Please resolve.
I had the same problem. I clicked button "form" (right hand corner on top), I searched for 8915 F-Form, above is an old form: 8915 E. You uncheck the box "yes" or "no" (depends on your tax situation). Mine I unchecked the "yes" box because I did not withdraw any IRA money from my IRA account for qualified disaster withdraw reason. Voila! No more error when I reran the Smart Check. Hope it helps.
