So I'm reporting my foreing earned income in form 1040, but then turbotax ask me to "confirm foreing wages already entered"
So there a 2 problems here:
1- The first bolded instruction (Learn more) says that turbotax thinks I have to allocate earnings from a W-2 and marked them as foreing income. However I never even entered a W-2 (made sure to mark I don't have one). My only job of 2019 has no relation with the US whatsoever so the only reported income was in the 1040 form since the beginning. In other words, the income I reported from the start is all foreing and mark as such, I shouldn't need to allocate anything already marked. Even though I proceded to just enter the same value, reporting that all my income is foreing (again) but by doing this turbotax now thinks my income was doubled which is wrong.
2- The second bolded instruction (wages adjustment) says the opposite, "You may need to modify this amount if there were amounts not earned in a foreign country or if you earned the income in a different tax year", so I think, none, all my earnings was foreing and from 2019. The problem is that if I don't enter a value, or I enter 0, I will have this problem that turbotax says I can't e-file becuase some values are zero
Am I doing something worng or maybe I missunderstood a instruction.
1) If you had no US workdays in 2019, leave the adjustment field blank.
2) Leave the modify field blank.. Do not enter zero.
So I reposted my question because I didn't knew if this one got through. Even if I let the box blank, the same error will occur where I won't be able to e-file because some values are "zero". However the solution they gave me in my other post was to just enter 1. I already e-file my federal form and it got accepted by the IRS.
Thanks.
