Turbotax is in an endless "Needs Review" loop for 1099 MISC. Box 2, you're supposed to double-click to select the form on which to report this income. It can't be fixed.

Turbotax is interpreting this spot as a blank, but it's really a place where I should be able to place the income on Schedule C or Schedule E. I don't seem to be able to do anything to convince Turbotax that this is not a blank to be filled in. Any ideas?

Enter the IRS form 1099-MISC income from within the self-employment activity (Schedule C) or the rental activity (Schedule E) rather than from outside the activity.

For instance, access the self-employment activity in TurboTax Premium Online by these steps:

  • Down the left side of the screen, click Federal.
  • Down the left side of the screen, click Wages & Income.
  • Click on the drop down arrow to the right of Self-employment.
  • Click to the right of Self-employment income and expenses.
  • Edit the self-employment activity.
  • Select Add income for this work.
  • IRS form 1099-MISC is an input option.
