TurboTax incorrectly fills Form 2210

I need to file Form 2210 but I get this "Form 2210: Line D Withholding-1. The sum of the four columns is not equal to your total withholding of $XXX for the year"

I've scrolled the form and I see only 3 sums in "Part II, Line D ' Tax Withheld Smart Worksheet" of the form. Looks like the form filling is broken. See the attached screenshot.

Yes, it is a bug. With form 2210. You cannot delete it. You can't fix it. No one at TT can help you either at the moment. But they are working on a fix. They have said it will be corrected by Feb 9th.... then by Mar 1st.. now by Mar 8th. Probably should print and mail aftet throwing out that form. But then, TT could not tell me if that form is connected to other parts and getting rid of it would cause other problems. No advice from them on that item. Best bet will probably be to wait it out and hope they fix the bug, E-file your taxes and hope for the best. Then, next year buy a tax program from someone else!

My estimated payments larger than total dollars due yet form 2210 indicated penalty due.  Can't manually correct. Can't reach real person for help. Same is true of importing past return info.  Won't be using TT next year.

@tagteam, this is not an answer to the question.

I hit this as well, and solved it!

Two tips:

  1. It turned out the "only three columns" error was a red herring:  the actual problem was that I thought these amounts should be cumulative, since other similar columns in form 2210 are cumulative.  In fact they're not, and when I fixed that, the error went away.
  2. Next year buy TurboTax client software of the Online version.  Not only does it allow you to edit the backing IRS forms manually ("Forms" view), the error reporting is slightly less cryptic than it is in the online version.  It was when I was staring at the errors in the client software that I realized what the issue in #1 was.

Exactly same problem for me.  Ugh!!  The columns don't line up.  When I go to print, form 2210 looks perfect, all the columns have the right info.  But TT won't let me e-file because of this bug.  Is there any way to e-file or do I need to print everything out and mail it in?

Update:  exactly one day later, when I went back to try again for the tenth time, the columns correctly line up.  The pdf printed form 2210 looks the same -- no change there -- but now it columns on the worksheet line up correctly and it says I'm good.  I was able to e-file with no more issues.

I am facing this issue too. The information in Part II Line D SMART WORKSHEET is incorrectly captured and it is not the same values that I have entered in the interactive wizard. I have gone through underpayment penalty form like 3 times to ensure I have the right information but no matter what I do, I cannot fix this issue.

how can I correct the information in this SMART WORKSHEET? when I print the form, all the information is captured correctly in Line 19 but I cannot fix the issue that appears during my tax-return review.

Here is the error I get: "Form 2210: Line D withholding. The sum of the four columns is not equal to your total withholding of XXX for the year"

I went over the link above and the suggestion was to delete the form. Is this an acceptable solution to the problem? are we not required to submit this form?

No.  Read the entire link.  For some folks, it’s apparently a rounding error that went away after adding a dollar.
