Turbotax Home/Business CD sftwr. How delete Form 8962, if can’t find "My Account". Not in upper right or drop down menus. Don’t qualify Premium Tax Credit due to Medicare

Turbotax Home & Business CD version. How can I delete Form 8962, if I can’t find any "My Account" to click. I have scoured my laptop screen and drop down menus. Healthcare.gov has repeatedly told us we don’t qualify for a Premium Tax Credit (I think because we have Medicare Part A in addition to a Healthcare Marketplace policy) and we received a 1095-A with $0 in the second column.

If you received a 1095-A, then a copy went to the IRS and they will be looking to see that recorded in your return, so it is best to leave it entered. However, if you are having any errors with the form, deleting it and coming in again might resolve the problem.

With the CD/Download software, you can use forms mode to delete the form directly, so you will not need the tool in My Account that is used for online versions.

To delete a form in the Windows version of TurboTax:

  • Change to forms mode by clicking on the paper icon Forms, in the upper right, in the blue
  • Then look for Form 8962 along the left, and click on it to display it on the right.
  • There is a Delete Form button on the bottom that will delete the current form displayed.
  • When you are finished, clicking on Step-by-Step, in the upper right with the icon of the 1 2 circles, will take you back to the interview mode.
