It sounds like you ended up with multiple accounts.
To get a list of your User IDs and recover account access, you can use
the tool at the link below. Try using your phone number first. If you
try using your email address, and you have more than 1 email address,
you should run the tool on each one.
NOTE: Before running the
account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including
this user forum, or you might end up in a loop. Then clear your browser
Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link
below. You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session.

If
still no luck after running that on your phone number and each email
address you have, then run the tool yet again, but this time choose the
small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by SSN and other parameters.
If you're not in the same account as last year, it cannot transfer the 2015 info into your 2016 return.
Do you see any evidence of the 2015 return in the 2015 Tax Timeline of that same account you are using? If you don't see any evidence of it, then it's in another account. Or do you see it there, but it says access is locked when you try to view/print it?
How did it make you change your log in? Did you change the User ID of the same account, or did you set up a whole new account?
We can help you troubleshoot multiple accounts to find the right one.
TT would not recognize my password used for last two year's tax returns and forced me to reset password after which it did not recognize past tax info. Intuit is sacrificing TT to Quickbooks.
The problem began when TT would not recognize the password and email address I have used for the last 2 years to file my taxes. Why did this happen in the first place? My initial attempts to reset the password for that email address led to a circular process that kept asking for the same information over and over. Why can't you admit you just screwed up?
I don't work for TurboTax. Sorry you had trouble, but I'm just a fellow user. So I can't explain what you experienced. But I know how to help people recover accounts. Hopefully, you were able to get back into the right one.
