TurboTax Desktop Deluxe (Windows) 2023 Bug

I have been entering my stock sales over the last few weeks. I was in the middle of updating a couple of the sales and adding a few more sales - and about half of all previously entered sales were deleted, even for other brokerages. even some of which were entered a few weeks ago. Not all, just around half.

I'm not really expecting anyone to solve this because it is not repeatable, but I just wanted it out there "for the record" in case someone else runs into the same problem.

Actually, I take that back - I can repeat it. Every time I try to update one of the brokerage accounts a few others get zeroed out.... but not all. I can do this 100% of the time.

Final post - here is the issue.

I have multiple brokerage accounts. When I try to update the last one, I get a message that informs me that I will have to submit the 1099 directly to the IRS (which is ridiculous, because this was reportable income from a major brokerage house and the IRS already has it). The "Back" key does not work at this point. Then, when I hit "continue" half of my other brokerage accounts show zero on the summary page for investment income.

I tried to call this in to TurboTax and ended up getting someone who barely spoke English, and we had a lot of trouble with things like names, email addresses, etc. So, I just give up and will work around it.

This error occurs 100% of the time for me.

If you e-file and report your entries in summary form, you do need to send an itemized summary to the IRS.
