TurboTax Deluxe Desktop 2024 for Mac hangs after each update

Each time TurboTax 2024 for Mac updates, it hangs. The Activity Monitor says "Not responding". I have to do a Force Quit. After this, TurboTax fails to start, whether I try to open it from the Applications folder, or by clicking on a tax return. The only workaround is to uninstall TurboTax, then delete all the library files, then re-install TurboTax. This is a complete waste of time. I see that others have had this problem, and it was first mentioned months ago. Please fix this ASAP.

I am running MacOS Sequoia 15.3, which is the latest version of the OS.

My TurboTax installation and my tax files are NOT in a Dropbox folder (which is mentioned in other forum posts.)

See this link for some additional suggestions.  Under the section titled "Updating help," there is also a link to guide you to force the update.  This may help resolve the issue.

Problems launching the TT App on Mac especially hanging after checking for updates; Possibly due to your TT file being stored on iCloud rather than locally on the Mac. Try launching TT by double clicking the file (on iCloud) instead of opening the App and expecting the App to find the file. Or try moving the file to another folder, then launching the App. It seems like pointers to files stored on iCloud can confuse TT sometimes as it expects the file to be stored locally.  see: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/turbo-tax-2024-mac-will-not-load-under-15-2/00/3417787

I looked at the process on the linked page.  Seriously? I'm supposed to entirely reboot my system, including the router, to be able to open a TurboTax file.  This seems unreasonable. I uninstalled/reinstalled TurboTax, opened it and then opened my tax return. Otherwise, if I just click on the tax return, I get caught in the update loop and have to force quit.  I'm using Sonoma 14.6.1.

Try this: close TT,  move your return file to another folder, open the TT application but not by double clicking your return file, instead double click the app itself.  It should open a new blank return, then you can close the blank return and open your saved return file.
