Turbotax Deluxe 2023 Stocks

Last year I used Turbotax Deluxe 2022 to import Stocks transactions from stock brokers etc and it worked out for me. When I trying to buy the Turbotax Deluxe 2023 version, I see that for stocks, it recommends Premier.

Anyone know if I can just buy Turbotax Deluxe 2023 will handle stocks investments?

You will need TurboTax Premium assuming you're planning to use an online version of TurboTax.

Thanks for the prompt response.

I used Downloaded version last year and I plan to use the same this year. So something has changed between 2022 and 2023 Deluxe version when it comes to using it for Stock transactions?

Yes you can still use the Desktop CD/Download DELUXE for stocks.  It's only the Online browser version you need to upgrade to Premium.   But all the Desktop programs have the same forms.

The product matrix is here: https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/compare/desktop

I believe you will just get more guidance from Premier.

Thank you. Is this information somewhere in turbotax help online?

Thanks. Seems like they purposefully do not provide all the details.  They just say "Additional help for investment sales such as stocks" which probably means Deluxe has help.

As long as I am able to automatically import all the stocks transactions from stock brokerages and it does all the match and show me, I am good.

Yes you are good.  The Desktop program only recommends you upgrade to Premier, but it is not necessary.  It may take awhile for the stock imports to be ready for Turbo Tax and from your broker accounts.
