TurboTax crashes my Macbook Pro

It has been OK until the software was updated a few days ago. Now it cannot use pulldown menu. Every time I try to use a pull down menu, it froze the program. After times later, will crash my laptop.

The worst thing is that it wouldn't let me download CA state package (since it will go through a pulldown menu).

Here are some tips you can use to try resolve this issue.

 

Fixing the Crash Issue:

  1. Reinstall TurboTax: Remove the application from your Mac, then go into the Library and delete every file related to TurboTax. After that, download and install a fresh version.
  2. Run TurboTax from the Applications Folder: Make sure you're launching it from the correct location and not from a mounted virtual drive.
  3. Check for macOS Compatibility: Some users have had trouble running TurboTax on macOS Sonoma. If you're using this version, you may need to contact Intuit support.

Fixing the CA State Package Download Issue:

  1. Use the TTCleanStatesTool: Intuit provides a tool to remove and reinstall state tax packages. You can download it and follow the instructions to clean up the state files.
  2. Try Running TurboTax as Administrator: Right-click the TurboTax icon, go to Properties, and enable "Run as Administrator".
  3. Check Internet Settings: Some users have resolved state download issues by adding https:*.intuit.com to their trusted sites and adjusting security settings.

Check to see if your Mac Book Pro meets these minimum requirements.
