Turbotax asking "2023 state estimated taxes paid in 2024"

I am filing taxes in 2025 for the 2024 tax year. Why is turbotax asking me about the 2023 year?

I input my estimated taxes for each quarter paid in 2024. What does 2023 have to do with anything seeing any estimated taxes I owed in 2023 was already claimed on Line 75 of my 2023 IT-201.

Thanks.

You are being asked about 2023 estimated taxes paid in 2024 for your Schedule A. You can deduct all state and local income taxes paid in 2024, even if they are for a previous year. Your IT-201, Line 75, will only show the amount paid for the 2024 tax year.

Thank you. So should I enter the $600 in estimated taxes that I already included in my 2023 taxes here?

Yes. Include the $600 in the 2023 state estimated taxes paid in 2024.
