No. Any tax credits/ deduction for education (on the federal return, at least) go with the parent claiming the child as a dependent. However, if you are the custodial parent who the child lives with primarily (when not at school), you get the benefits of Head of Household. If your income is in the lower range, you may also get the Earned Income Credit.
