A portion of 2023 TurboTax needs the x86 version of teh Visual C++ Redistributable package and the installer fails to install it.  you can obtain it from Microsoft:

Thank you for that link and advice.  It worked!  My Windows 10 computer didn't have that error message, but when I tried to install the same disk on my new Windows 11 computer, it gave two error codes.  The install of the x86 package in your link resolved both error messages.  Thank you.

For shame, for shame, for shame.

The VC runtime for *X86* is required for Turbo Tax to work.
Shame on Intuit for FAILURE to include this on the CD.

Be sure to get the X86 version, as Turbo Tax is not entirely a 64-bit program.

For years, every software installation that requires the Microsoft Visual Studio runtimes, installs the required runtime from the CD.

Intuit, you blew it.
For shame, for shame, for shame.

@bgavin : Thank you! You pointed out exactly what the problem is. It is Intuit.com and it's bottom-feeder lobbying strategy to monopolize the tax software industry and advocate against government funded Tax software.

Nope.
I've been in the software development business for 50 years.
This is simply an "oops" by a developer who did not test TT on a fresh machine.

The very LAST thing I ever want is the gov't having its fingers in tax software.
The current revelations of massive gov't fraud, grift and incompetence show me how incompetent and untrustworthy the gov't truly is.  I don't want them muddling through tax software.
