TT22 is reporting errors that I have not filled out page 1 of schedule E. However, the business is a real estate limited partnership so page 1 is not required. I have never encountered this situation in my many years of filing with TT. Anybody else encounter this or have a solution?
I have reviewed my 2021 return entries for the K1 and they exactly match those entered in 2022 (other than the dollar amounts) so I cannot find any error that I have made to cause this. I suppose I could just put the information on page 1 but I am concerned that there is an incorrect entry somewhere that is creating the issue.
Please clarify your question with more information about the exact error message you are seeing and where you are seeing it. For example, does it appear during the review process for your Federal return or is it somewhere else.
This will help us to provide more assistance.
Hi Annette,
Yes, the error message occurs following the TT review process of my federal return. It states: "We found 5 areas on your federal return where we'll need to review your entries. We'll handle them one at a time."
TT then opens up a new screen that states "Check this entry" and shows page 1 of Schedule E indicating that I need to provide a property description and a box is provided for doing so. Then, same thing for property street address, city, zip code, and number of days rented during the year.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Again, this is a limited partnership for real estate, in particular for a mobile home park. I am a limited partner and received a K1 and have entered the K1 information into TT. Again, TT has never requested that I provide that information and has never included page 1 of Schedule E in my tax return.
I attempted to replicate your situation in order to provide a solution. However, my attempts did not work.
It would be helpful to have a diagnostic copy of your tax file to investigate this further. The diagnostic file will not contain personally identifiable information, only numbers related to your tax forms. If you would like to provide the diagnostic file, follow the instructions below and post the token number along with which version of TurboTax you are using in a follow-up thread.
