TurboTax 2016 is importing duplicate data from Fidelity; 2-IRA, 2-Brokerage, 1-shared account. TT should reconcile duplicates. Weeks sorting this out manually.

I recognize that I could eliminate some of the forms during the second import, if I could recognize there would be duplicates.  I reproduced my taxes by just doing imports, no manual entry of form data from Fidelity tax forms.

I also noticed that TT now seems to offer a post-import review of the imported data ... is this a recent fix?

It is exhausting to diagnose this with the most complicated tax return I have ever filed this year.  Duplicate forms should be recognized and eliminated.

For instance ... consider that I'm working on taxes, and my financial institution updates some tax related data.  If I import again, it will create chaos.

The imported data is also lacking the Fidelity account number.  Stocks need to be identified as IRA or Brokerage related sales.

In this situation, first, use the option Remove Imported data, then Import for a second time.

You may do this now if you want to start fresh to clean up any errors. Save your current tax file first under a separate name.

Your broker will never generate a 1099-B transaction report for a tax-deferred account;  these don't go on your tax return.
