Turbo Tax used to show your refund/tax due so far. Can I still see that? I don't want to wait until I have all my documents to get an estimate of what I owe.

Click < or > to get the refund monitor  to appear.

Turbo Tax will calculate taxes/refunds based on the info you enter. Like you, I wanted to get an idea of what I would be looking at this season so I entered a bunch of approximate values to get an idea. Just start a return, import your data from last year if you have any, and plug away.

If you're a W2 employee, then you can get a good idea of what to enter off of your final pay stub of 2022. If you're self employed like me, then you should have good records that you can reference.

This makes no sense I am in TT now and all I see is race mode which offers little to no value. Is it possible enable the "Refund monitor" again?

On the top where you can view the race mode, you should be able to click the <  or > and show the refund monitor instead of the race mode. @jkretkow

I'm not seeing it either: no option to click  a < or a >.

Too bad, that was an awesome feature!

Click < or > to get the refund monitor to appear.  You might also have to toggle off that “race mode” or click Review.

It still does, although you have to click through everything, answer the questions, etc. took me all day and 3 different agents to find this out.Once you hit review the numbers will appear, then you can go back and do it again, the numbers will stay...it's a total pain and very time consuming. Whoever thought this was a good idea should be fired...
