Turbo Tax says my address changed when it did not. Why is this, and will it affect my return?

Not if you used direct deposit.  Where are you seeing this message?

Hi, thank you. I haven't moved in over 5 years. I always get refund via direct deposit, but had to pay last year via credit card. I saw this at the beginning of filing and in the review. Statement said something like "we noticed you move. Did you move for work?"

Having the wrong address on your return, will not affect your return if you Electronically File, but you just want to make sure that it is correct in TurboTax, and that all tax documents that you received have your correct address.

Check your Intuit Account to make sure your address is correctly reflected.  Your Intuit Account can be found if you scroll down on the left hand side of your screen.

Check your W-2's, 1099's and other taxing documents to make sure you have the correct address.  It could be something as easy as the zip code extension that is flagging TurboTax to ask you the question.

Turbo Tax asked if I had moved for work because my address had changed.  I have not moved in 36 years.  Why did this come up?

I'm running into the same thing others have. Some of my tax documents use the extension of my zip code and some don't. Since Turbotax autofills my address from the previous year, it's really annoying to have TT suddenly think I moved. I assume I can just say I didn't move for work but it's ridiculous that something like that should cause this to happen. Very annoying and doing taxes is already annoying enough.
