It sounds like you may have accidentally added this form. The best way to rectify this to delete the form.

See the original article here, or read on:

Here's the general procedure for viewing the forms list and deleting unwanted forms, schedules, and worksheets in TurboTax Online:

  1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
  2. In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
  3. In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
  4. Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.

I dont have this deduction, but it keeps adding the page,  I have deleted this form 20 times, does not show on tools, but it is there in print?  I dont understand why it keeps adding the page with arbitrary numbes

If you took a retirement distribution in a prior year and elected tor repay it over three years, the form will transfer in from last year's information.

If this is the case, to clarify, we would like to take a deeper look at this. It would help to have a diagnostic file, which is a sanitized copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed but has all of the forms and numbers entered. You can send one to us by following the directions below and posting the token number here so we can access the sanitized return.

 TurboTax Online:

  1. Sign in to your online account
  2. Click on Tax Tools on the left toolbar
  3. Select Tools
  4. In the pop-up screen, click on "Share my file with agent"
  5. Click OK on the message that a diagnostic file will be sanitized and transmitted to us
  6. Please post the Token Number

TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:

  1. Open your return
  2. Click the Online tab in the top menu bar
  3. Select "Send Tax File to Agent"
  4. Click Send on the message, and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us
  5. Please post the Token Number

Thank you for providing the token. I looked into the return and indeed, I do not see any version of Form 8915 but it did give that message during Review.  We will be looking into this behavior and let you know what we find.

I deleted the generated form, because it was not needed, but I still get the error and I have deleted every form and worksheet your tech tech team has advised.  I have cleared cache and history from computer and have restarted my computer multiple times.  Why can't I e-file yet.  I dont need this form - why is stating I have to mail my return due to having this form.  I deleted it like the help page stated, that it would fix the problem.  I have been done with my taxes for 6 weeks, but still cannot file

@ivory6933

Did you have a covid distribution last year from a 401K or IRA and choose to pay the taxes over a 3 year period ?   Look at your 2020 return ... do you have an 8915-E form in the return ?

Having the exact same issue. Spent 5 hours on the phone with 3 different reps. Last rep tried to gaslight me and say my normal contribution to my roth counted as emergency withdrawal. (The reps supervisor who of course wouldn't get on the phone themselves) The form is not listed to delete. It just shows up tacked on when you look a the printed forms. 2nd rep escalated the issue but then I get an email saying case is closed. Of all the years I've spent with TT this may very well be my last.

Token 948763  A previous rep has said this has been escalated. If there are any notes from these reps on my account I would like to see them since 3 reps have looked into this and no one has followed up.

This is a known problem.  See this TurboTax support FAQ - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/electronic-filing/help/why-is-form-8915a-t-preventing-me-from-e-filing/00/2522907

I been on phone with many saying I am the only one they cannot fix, said I had to delete many forms, clear cache, and reboot computer.  I get about 3 emails a day saying they are looking into this matter, but no help has come.  I have been told I must have made a Covid disbursement ad I have not.  I answer "No" I have not taken previous year's disbursement, but to no avail, I cannot E-file.  I have have used Turbo tax over 30+ years and file my mother's and all 4 children through this program.  If I cannot get a fix, it will be my last.  I even had one Rep say I need to pay an upgrade to get help, but would not guarantee a fix even paying?  Also, this is their glitch not mine, why do I have to pay extra for their failure to fix a glitch.  I don't have this Form, I dont need this form - HELP ME file so I don't stress over this.  I have been done with my Taxes since beginning of February and I still cannot file.  6 weeks waiting on a form I do not need.  I beyond frustrated right now..   I have moved on to mad, I keep getting told it is something I did, but others are having the same issue.  Thanks Turbo Tax for trying to make feel like I did something wrong.

Apparently my comments were too long and had to split my message up.

I’m not even getting a response. After every phone call I get a message that says case closed. The worst experience I’ve ever had with TT

I had three call backs from them and no one was on the end...  i could hear breathing but no one talked.  I had to keep requesting for a call back and on the 4th time some one was finally on the line to talk to me.

Was denied a refund for their screwed up software.

" Once payment has been received, the product is considered to have been used to prepare your taxes, regardless of whether you print or electronically file your return, or if it's rejected."

I can't efile. The customer service rep lied to me about the reason behind it. I'm being told to suck it up and mail it when they have a return that isn't correct. I'm not going to mail in a return that has not been prepared correctly.

@hawthorne-locket See if there are Forms 8915 in the list of files for your account.  If there is then delete all Forms 8915 in the list

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen

Click on Tools

Click on Delete a form

Go to back the section where asked for Disaster Distributions and answer NO.  You should be able to e-file the 2021 tax return.
