Turbo Tax Premeier 2017 CD asking for state filing fee.

Bought Turbo Tax premier from Costco. During installation, CD reported that 1 state filing is included free and additional state would be charged.  During filing, it is prompting for fee to file state. Not Sure why would this be?

One state software for turbotax is included in price, this allows you to do the state return.  That is different from an electronic filing fee  that is extra, I believe $19.99.  You can mail through usps and your state return will not cost you any more.

After paying a premium price for the downloadable version (which I'm willing to do to keep my data off the cloud), I find that being charged a relatively substantial additional state e-file fee is excessive.

 

I will be looking at alternative tax filing solutions next year.

That is false advertising.  I should have one state free.  So now on the next return will i be able to process the state return and print the forms or will I be charged again.  That needs to be more CLEAR.  I think that is wrong.
