Turbo Tax is unable to import my 1099-B of Morgan Stanley at work account

I request your advice:

Turbo Tax Premier desktop is not able to import my 1099-B of my RSU sales from Morgan Stanley at work.

I logged in to atwork.morganstanley.com and enabled access for third party. After that, I tried going into TurboTax - tried to import from "Stocks section of Investment income. Turbo Tax still doesn't allow me to login to Morgan Stanley with the same password. I tried Skip import, and entered the account number, EIN number of Morgan Stanley, but still doesn't and leads me to enter each sale manually which may be error prone.

Is there any way I can import or upload the 1099-B file into TurboTax?

Request your advice. Thank you.

If you are using TurboTax Online, try importing using a different browser.

If you use the Brave browser, you have to turn off the Brave Shields.

What just worked for me is in this post https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/having-trouble-importing-from-morgan-stanley-error-code-0299/00/260669

Basically remove the special characters from your password and it works. This is 100% a coding issue on the Intuit TurboTax folks that *should be fixed* and violates all kinds of best practices when choosing strong passwords.

But Morgan Stanley requires special characters in the password!!! It's like a deadlock!!!

Same here. This still doesn't work.

The 109X import service for Morgan Stanley at Work is currently unavailable.
Please try again on Monday, March 03 2025 at 10:00:00 PT

Not sure this is ever going to work...

You can use a ! character

When you type 'Morgan Stanley' in the search area, try double-clicking on 'Morgan Stanley at Work' in the Search Results below.  You should get to the Sign In screen.

Make sure you have enabled third-party access in your Morgan Stanley account.  Temporarily disable anti-virus software.

For anyone still struggling with this, I randomly came across the solution from a buried thread. You cannot have dashes in your username. It has nothing to do with your password:

XX-XXXXXX-XX should be XXXXXXXXXX

Spent 20 minutes trying to change my password or try different browsers and other nonsense.

This worked for me. I recommend using an underscore "_" as your special character.  Thank you!
