Turbo tax is not accepting box 15 on my W2 says it's invalid. Aren't we supposed to keep the W2 exactly as it shows? Not sure what to do?

What is in box 15 of your  W-2?

boxes 15 -20 are only needed if the state taxes wages

these states don't tax wages

1. Alaska
2. Florida
3. Nevada
4. New Hampshire
5. South Dakota
6. Tennessee 
7. Texas
8. Washington
9. Wyoming

Employer's state iD number....

Box 15 of TurboTax's W-2 form consists of two parts, the two letter state identifier and the employer's state tax ID.  Do not  combine the two-letter state identifier in the box with the employer's state tax ID even though they might be shown as a single group of characters on the W-2 provided by the employer.

If there is nothing in boxes 16 & 17 on the W-2  then leave boxes 15 thru 20 blank in the program as they are unneeded.
